Lufttransport AS, one of the Nordic Region’s oldest air transport companies with more than 50 years in aviation in Norway, is today one of the leading air transport companies in the Region offering 24-7-365 emergency and contingency aviation services with fixed and rotary wing aircraft.

Lufttransport AS’ main areas of operation are Air Ambulance services using both fixed and rotary wing aircraft, Coastguard monitoring, charters, and the transport of ship’s pilots to vessels by helicopter.

Through its many years of operational experience the company has built up a broad base of expertise, knowledge and experience amongst its technical, operational and administrative staff, and is highly respected and well established in the market.

Lufttransport AS has its main base in Tromsø and regional bases countrywide. The company currently has 200 employees and the budgeted turnover for the current year is approximately NOK 400 millions.

Lufttransport AS holds a contract with The Norwegian Health Institutions’ National Air Ambulance Service ANS to fly both fixed wing aircraft and helicopters in Norway. Since 1994 the company has flown in excess of 100 000 air hours in the ambulance service and roughly the same number of patients from Kirkenes in the North to Gardermoen in the South. Lufttransport’s aircraft and crews are on standby 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Through its sister-company Lufttransport AB in Sweden, Lufttransport AS is responsible for four helicopter bases and one fixed wing aircraft base. Lufttransport AB has in the region of 50 employees and has an annual turnover of approximately NOK 75 millions.
