Tromsø Camping is situated in the bowl of the Troms Valley - Tromsdalen - just 10 minutes from the centre of Tromsø.

With its river landscape and superb walking- and hiking terrain immediately adjacent, the camping site is ideally situated for those who wish to enjoy the activities and night life offered by the City and the natural beauty of the magnificent scenery. Tromsø Camping is a pleasantly short trip from such attractions as Fjellheisen and the Arctic Cathedral.

In the camping site itself we have a barbecue area and duck pond in the summer, and ice skating rink and ski runs close by in the winter. After a long day's walking and exploring in the woods and fields, good bus services bring you quickly to the City where you can enjoy all that this Paris of the North has to offer; the many cafes, restaurants, concerts, cinema and theatres.

Tromsø Camping has 55 cabins in various categories, the majority of which are insulated for winter habitation. Sizes range from 7 to 40 m2 with from 2 to 5 beds. In mid January 2007 seven new cabins in the Comfort Class, specially designed to our specifications, will be ready to receive guests. The cabins are 35 m², have 1 bedroom, bathroom, living room, kitchen alcove, large windows and  32' flat screen TV with several channels. Each cabin also has its own terrace where you can relax in the sun. If you are looking for hotel standard in your own self-catering flat, surrounded by the song of the river and greenery but just a stone's throw from the centre of Tromsø, this is the place for you.

We can offer rentals of the Lavvo - the traditional Saami tent, similar to a Tepee - further down Tromsdalen for gatherings. If you and your friends are looking for a pleasant and different venue to meet in, or the company wants to arrange a social evening, the Lavvo in Tromsdalen is the perfect choice.
