Chasing the Aurora
The Aurora Belt, that crowns the top of the planet, makes a landfall in Tromsø, and nowhere on the planet do you stand a better chance of spotting this phenomenon than here.
Faint rays of a fragile and unnatural green perform a silent dance above us in ever-changing shapes and moves, with occasional hints of kitschy pink and violet. But alas, nobody knows the hours, so the dedicated Aurora watcher must invest whole winter evenings and buckets of patience.
Come between December and March, and try to spend as much time outdoors between 6pm and midnight as possible, strike up a deal with the weather gods and you stand the best chance.
