Målselv Fjellandsby

Målselv Fjellandsby – The Målselv Mountain Village – is a major holiday and leisure activity concept currently under planning in Indre Troms. With a total development period of 10-15 years, the area will encompass approximately 1.500 alpine cabins, modern alpine skiing facilities, a year-round family park and service unit, and will provide the region with unique opportunities for both cabin owners and tourists.

Although construction is not expected to commence until the last few months of 2006, more than 200 leisure cabin plots have already been sold. All plots in Fjellandsbyen will be designed on the principle Ski-in, Ski-out. This means that one will be able to ski down to the nearest ski lift from each and every cabin in the development. Three ski lifts are scheduled for completion for the winter 2007/2008, and the total length of the runs from these will be approximately 500 elevation metres. 5000 metres of well-prepared ski runs will offer facilities to suit all, from beginners to the accomplished skier. One of the ski lifts will be especially adapted to accommodate children.

All the cabin plots are located on the sunny side, with spectacular views over Målselv. The plots are freehold, and include facilities and services such as roads, mains water, mains sewage, electric power, Internet connection, and cable TV. Building permission is obtainable for up to 180 m2 per plot.

In connection with the Fjellandsbyen development, the family leisure park Blånisselandet in Målselv is under planning. The park is based on the TV company NRK’s stories about Blånissene, and will be a magical experience venue with activities for the whole family all year round. Blåfjell – the magical Blue Mountain – will be excavated inside the mountain itself, while the surrounding areas will include activities such as a climbing forest, rope stairway, ice-skating facilities, a gold mine and a fishing hole.
