For many, Tromsø IL is the city’s pride and joy as far as sports are concerned. TIL was Cup champion in 1986 and 1996, and won silver as the best in the premier division. The club has also had noteworthy achievements in the Euro Cups as well.

The junior division constitutes a very large part of the club. There is something for 6-year-olds all the way up to junior level. There are several teams for each age group, so that as many as possible can participate, and there are teams for both girls and boys.
